Hi, last night gotta bit carried away on ebay and bought a pair of 40mm lowering rear shocks and springs for a mk1 golf they were only £3!!!!!!!! will these fit my '89 GT2? and also will it be ok with just changing the rear ones until i can afford some front ones also? Im guessing that it will affect the handling quite a lot?
Cheers, Dan

Might make the handling a bit squiffy, but as long as you're careful it will be OK. Definitely look like your car's havin a dump though!

Re: Advice on shocks please
you may find that fronts are hard to find without rears. you may also find that a full set is cheaperer than just a pair for the front. might be worth waiting a bit and seeing if you can turn up a complete set. rears on their own are more common on the bay from when people just lower the front
Re: Advice on shocks please
Hi, bit more advice please, i just picked up some 40-60mm lower front springs. do i need to change the whole shocks on the front or can i just replace the springs that are already on? Also when i picked them up he said they were "cut ready" whats this mean?
