cuts out
hello .hope some one can help me ...i have a g reg rocco 1.8 8v it starts fine but when i drive it the engine just cuts out..had it to my local garage but he couldnt see what the prob is an only said that it could be a fuel problem..ive put on new fuel pump an check all fuel pipes .so if any one has any ideas plz plz let me know ...cheers an thanks mr simz...

Would check ignition coil and connections to it first. If the spade connections have been crimped I would double check these as a poor connection can cause car to stall/cut out.

Is the fuel filler neck in good condition ? If its rotten or rusty then chances are the fuel is contaminated. Easiest way to check is to remove the sender unit from the top of the fuel tank (under the rear seat) and have a look inside the tank for signs of water , rust or dirt.
Don't ask me....it was like that when i got here !
