Cam Followers...

And then we come to rebuild.

The head's getting rebuilt and bored. Managed to get a Newman 268 fast road cam off my cousin... he's going full on rally cam. I was getting the full head, so woulda used the followers he had... but he's only done 400 miles or so on the cam. Also got his "spare" unbored head off him too... so

Best off installing new followers or just use the ones already in the head? And would I be better getting Newman followers or just standard Rocco ones? Experience is needed and it's truly the first time I've done any major modding on a VW

Im not VW man but I am an ex mechanic + and still work in the trade and I'd say as follws

If the followers have been pulled out with that cam and boxed up in order use them if not buy another set as you dont want to shag your cam

I should clarify, I haven't got his followers so I'd be using the ones in my "new" Rocco head now. They aren't matched.
I think I'm just gonna get new followers anyways to be on the safe side. I'm replacing the stem seals too so it's not as if they're not coming out anyways.
