Samco Hoses

Post by Mr Funk »

Okay so I'm looking at cleaning up the under bonnet and was looking at a nice Samco kit but wasn't sure if the Goof ones were correct so I went straight to the source and called Samco.
Is there any chance someone can post Vw part Numbers for the Coolant hoses and the ancillary hoses so he can make a kit up.

Cheers in advance

Not according to the man at Samco and their catalogue doesn't mention them either hence why I called. He was wondering if the Goof ones would fit or wether it would need anything different before I shelled out and suggested part numbers so he could match anything up.

You should get an extra hose in the coolant kit, on early cars theres a straight hose from the water pump to the metal water pipe and on later ones its like a 'T' shape pipe (think i've got that the right way round) but you should get both in the kit anyway.

Like i say i might be able to get you the part numbers if you can wait til i get home !

cheers
Tony

533 121 101 F
171 121 109 F
026 121 063 A
171 121 611 AN

Then the last hose depends on whether you have an oil cooler above the filter housing... and there's 4 hoses showing for it.

TBH, some of it also depends on engine number too... the only hose that is "random" is the breather to the expansion tank.

Circa £100 for the coolant hoses... I stopped looking after that... OEM is fine with me.

I should clarify... I have 3 sets of OEM ones so have a choice to make in terms of which ones I'm putting on. I 'm not slating hte hoses, just that it's £100 I don't need to spend right now with the hoses I have. If they finally blow up (the OEM ones) then I would probably change to the Samco ones.

Read back my post and it sounded like I disapproved and I most certainly don't. They're swish looking!!
