4+e vs 5 speed?

Hi my gearbox has messed up and im looking for a new one but was wondering what the difference between the 4+e and the 5 speed are?

4+e is an economy gearbox - acceleration will be less brisk, but cruising more relaxed. I prefer the normal 5-speed, but then I'm willing to put up with higher revs on the motorway for the sake of better acceleration.
