GT exhaust same as GTX ????

Post by GT Matt »

Hi

Just trying to source a new centre & rear exhaust for my 1990 1.8GT carb model. :scratch:

Nobody seems to list it :crying:

Just want to ask if anyone can confirm that the GTX/Scala Inj listed exhaust will fit on the standard 8v front pipe.

I think they should, just would like confirmation before I order it

Cheers, Matt

You car is a GTII mate. But why not get a Jetex system? That connects straight from your down pipe. The bore on injection in 2" and the bore on my 1.6 carb'd is 1.75" (ish) so maybe some sort of reducer is needed too.

Jetex system is a tad over £200 in 2" format dude. :chill:

Not sure about the 1.8GT* but the 1.6GT is different to the 1.8 Scala systems I have seen in both injection and carb forms (which WERE the same). Smaller diameter I think, but also joined in different section shapes/lengths.

The downpipe shape of 1.6GT was also different as didn't have to clear an anti-roll bar - flatter and shorter I seem to remember.

* 1990 could be a 1.8GT, not a GTII couldn't it?

If it was registered a bit late, yes. They're usually '89 F or G.
