Come on then, what's the trick?
I have a 70Amp alternator that I need to get the pulley off to strip the alternator down (to clean and paint) but HTF do you get the pulley bolt undone?

Re: REmoving Pulley From Alternator
Ok, so another way...
support the pully on some metal, alowing the alternator to dangle beneith, free (but making sure it has a soft landing!
put a longer bolt in the place where you took the single bolt out of.
hit bolt.
(sorry not got one infront of me so can't see exactly what to do, but thats the genral idea!)

Re: REmoving Pulley From Alternator
has it got a hex on the centre shaft you can either stick an allen key in or grab with a spanner?

Re: REmoving Pulley From Alternator
It's a multisplined star drive... more than the normal 6 spokes.
I may just jam the wheel in the vice and rag heck out of hte nut. If the wheels that seized onto the shaft then that should do the trick. THEN attack attack attack!!
