Heated Front Windscreen

Post by millsy20 »

Who would be interested in getting a heated front windscreen. I have found a place called Ricky Evans Motorsport that can make some but they will only make a batch of 10 or more. These would be ideal for anyone building a track car so they can ditch the heater box under the dash.

Heres a link if anyones interested http://www.heatedwindscreen.com/

Now here's a coupla questions (kinda thinking aloud here!)

Rear Screens - would these also be a possiblity at some point?
Road Legal - I'm guessing so, but thought I'd ask :chortle:
Tinting - can a tinting film be applied to them without them bubbling all over hte place (if question one is a satisfactory yes :yup: )

IU've got a green tinted screen for one of my Mk2's.. (really should get over and pick that up  ) however my project Rocco... t'would be awesome to have heated front and back that don't have the daft metal lines on them if you get my drift?

Cheers,
Rich

Im not sure about the back but he can do tinted screens and yes these are road legal. Im gonna try and give him a ring tomorrow at some point as well for prices but with the rear screens he will probably only make 10 or more again. If I cant get more than ten names for them then he wont do them.

I'd be interested but I'd like an idea of price.

Are there any pictures showing a screen with the element that they use? I looked at their site but couldn't see any close ups.

I'm of the same mind as Colin. I'd be interested depending on price and how 'visible' the elements are.

:beers:

The person who makes them never got back to me in the end with a price so I sort of left it.

To be honest the heated screen in my mondeo towing barge is easily the most irritating feature of the car. I'd junk it in favour of a clear screen and a slght wait on cold days anyday...
