on mine there's 2 little 'L' shape steel brackets that bolt to the bottom of the bumper and the plate screws onto them. i was planning to weld a piece of plate to them so i could stick the plate on. number plate screws look scruffy

thanks - however, there are no holes on the underside of the chrome bumper - but instead, there are 2 holes on the front face of the bumper at the bottom. i have seen the number plate (on other cars) apparently ' suspended' from the bottom where the holes are, but this worries me, as this looks too fragile a fixing point to withstand wind etc. as you are driving (see pic attached). any thoughts?

Good choice of picture - that car used to be mine! I think the plate was just bolted through the top of the plate into the two holes that you mention. When I got it I seem to remember it was just screwed into the black rubber strip. I don't remember any bracket but if you look at the one on e-bay (item no. 140384895981) it looks like it may have some sort of bracket as it is attached in the middle of the plate. I never had any problem while driving.
