Anyone done it?

I seem to remember seeing a post on the old site about it, but can't seem to find any info on it except a Mk1 conversion using a full engine and transmission conversion.

If you have, hints to parts would be cool :P

Cheers,
Rich

Ignore me... found it :P

Link eventually takes you to http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187421

So, question repeated, anyone got a hint to the part numbers required for a standard 89 1.8 GT?

Yeah, me too... it was funksoulkitty's webby that first got me thinking about it, but hers is a Mk1.

Link to her bits n bobs for Mk1 owners, although I do wonder how much similarity there is. I don't know Mk1's at all so can't really comment :D

http://www.funksoulkitty.org/shockypage ... ctemp.html - it is NOT for a standard transmission though, but I'd have thought the principle will be the same regardless... push pedal... hydraulics do magical gubbins, move clutch mechanism, plus it gets around the whole "knackered clutch cable sawing your Rocco in half" routine.
