Re-framing seats?

Post by jbo »

Hi All,

How easy is it to move seats fabric over to new frames? I have a set of mk1 seats I want moving onto new frames.

Is it simply a case of carefully removing the leather from the old frames and moving them over to the new ones? If so can I leave the upper part of the seat intact or would this not match to a mk2 lower frame?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Dead easy to remove the seat covers and padding. Theres a write up on the FAQ section that may give you some pointers.

If you can jut swap the whole back rest, it comes apart in about 30seconds.I tried removing the cover off the back first and give up half way through, not easy. The base is easy, just a few big staples to undo and a bit of glue at the front of the bolsters.
