Well thought i would do a little update.
Have been busy collecting the parts i need for my 9a conversion, yesterday i won a 16 v metering head,+ polished cam cover, last week i won a baffled sump and windage tray, and fuel lines, injectors and cold start valve and intake pipes.
Got the ecu (need kr ecu loom ) got my 15 inch wheels ready to get some wilwood 280m brakes inside :D
Need a 16v dizzy.
16v air box.
16v throttle body.(Just won one,£11.36 inc post  )
Exhaust manifold.
22m master and servo,no not Depeche mode :mafia:
Bearings,rings,gaskets,filters,plugs,belts.
Head will be skimmed, ported, new guides, possibly change the kr cams for something a bit more aggressive, really worried that i might lose the kick in the back,i get from planting my boot, when the kent gs2h comes on cam ?
So i am getting there, considdering i am not supposed to be spending any money,it`s supposed to be going to Mr Tax man .
Everything i have bought will be cleaned and polished,or painted, have access to a big parts cleaner, and a blasting cabinet...Watch this space !!!

You've been busy!

I know a good contact for head work, if you want someone to do it for you - he's the guy that did all the GTI Engineering stuff, also does TSR, C&R, and many more. PM me if you want more info.

If you haven't already obtained a dizzy, might be worth looking for an Audi 6A(or poss ACE) dizzy, not the KR/9A one - the 6A should fit the 9A block and comes with angled cap, as per the ABF cap normally recommended to clear the brake master cylinder.

I have one to go on my 16v converted Rocco, but unfortunately it's attached to the car I need to use 'til the Rocco is ready

The 6A cap will fit a KR/9A dizzy, I believe.

Sort of, same as the ABF cap is 'sort of' a fit ie the KR dizzy clips just fit over the bolt flanges on the ABF cap.

But the 6A dizzy can be run with the K-jet (the ABF dizzy cannot), but the cap is bolt on like the ABF dizzy, not clips like the KR dizzy.

And I am 90% sure the angled cap points the correct way on the 6A, so no trimming of the lug inside the cap that you have to do with the ABF cap.

I'm led to believe the 6A, 9A and KR dizzy are the same part, but I'm not 100%, and not looking for an argument on the subject

Cheers for all the input peeps !!!
Hit a bit of a brick wall now,i am self employed, and work is dead, really dead, got one job booked this week, and one next,so far,so having to stop spending money on it for a bit.And the tax runs out end of this month too :ire: .
Going to take all the bit`s i have got so far, over to the workshop, then i will sandblast, paint etc,so that should keep me busy.Need to polish up the inside of the block too,so the oil runs back quicker, and stays cleaner, pistons etc can come out ready for the hone.will keep my eye out on the bay,but i only have about £40 left to play with in my paypal ac,so will be lucky to get one for that.

Oh yes you are! :ire:

To be honest I haven't checked properly even though I have a car with a 6A in parked outside. Will confirm either way when I remember to have a look.
