Weber conversion question...

Post by andyneedham2 »

Hello chaps, I am changing my pooberg this week to a trusty weber 32 34. The weber is secondhand so I know I need to buy a baseplate (GSF do them i think) but will I need anything else, bolts, brackets etc? I am told the gasket is in good order...

Thanks in advance.

Andy

You mean the big alloy bracket the accelerator cable mounts to? You sure GSF do them? I think you might end up at Webcon...

I think 'we' would need to know what you have, before can tell you what's missing IYSWIM.

Hopefully somebody will post a link to the installation instructions that are online somewhere (I have lost it)

I think I might have the metal baseplate thingy in my collection of bits in the living room. Let me know if you can't get one from gsf!

I have acquired a baseplate (although, thanks 'walking in peru' for the offer), and as far as i know the carb has all the adaptors (cable mounts etc) I could just do with knowing which bolts I need for the base plate, I believe the pierburg bolts affix to the baseplate, but what goes between the plate and the carb, size/length etc?

Cheers

Andy

I seem to recall that the plate has M8 studs in it that the carb fits down on.

I have just the baseplate, no studs or anything. The 3 hole side is threaded, I assume I use the standard existing bolts for this, and the weber (4 hole side) just has bolt holes, I think I need to buy these separately.

The help is much appreciated

Andy,
PM me your email address and I will send you copies of the weber pictures, parts list and fitting/setup instructions that come with a new carb.
