coilovers stuck

Post by d_jay1 »

any ideas on how to shift coilover locking rings? they're stuck solid and can't seem to shift them. they're pretty new though, and in good nick. bought an ebay spanner and unsuprisingly it's a poor fit, which doesn't help.

loads of wd40, and a large pair of water pump pliars.
Soak them up and leave them overnight. Do the up first as in rising the suspension, then after youve got them high enough clean the threads up wire brush and wd40 them again. But failing that work the platform up n down when adjusting to free them off.
What it is, is dirt & grime getting in the threads building up
That should do the trick.
