Roof Bike Rack

Post by goaferboy »

The Twoface Scirocco has given me the urge to put my lowrider bike on the roof of the Scirocco for car shows. I can't quite make out how the owner of Twoface has done it. Would it be a Halfords jobbie or do I need to track down something else? How secure are roof bike racks?

Also, how do roof racks attach? Do they just clip on or do you have to do a bit of work to the car?

The bike in question:

mine clamps on to the inside of the driver's door opening. that looks like it's from an escort van or similar. you *might* be able to clamp it on to whatever is under the roof trims. could just be bolted straight to the roof too

I'm hoping that it will just clamp to something rather than me have to drill any holes. I'd like to avoid making any permanent changes to the car like the plague! Might check Halfords website or pop into the shop when I have time.

If you PM me some pictures and a price you're after, I'll let you know! I've got some fannying around with buying a car to actually put it on to do, but once I'm done I'll be looking for a roof rack for the bike!
