Gearbox drain key?

Tried removing the drain plug on my Scala (using my bolt and two nuts tool) and it is in there tight. It was put in by the neanderthals who caused the gearbox to seize back in 2008 and I reckoned they overtightened it. Anyway, I think I need to get the proper tool for the job, which GSF don't have in stock. Any idea where I can one from? Google searches come up with the Draper 17 mm on a 3/8" drive. I don't think it will be man enough for the job of loosening it.

is it a 17mm allen head? (memory a bit hazy!) if so, i'd go for either:
1]
one of these on the end of
one of these
or
2] a 17mm allen key (try a tool shop, or even hellfrauds) with a bit of stout pipe (scaff tube?) over the en o it to make it longer.
loosen it with a jerk as opposed to constant smooth pressure

the only thing that gets me about the Gear box oil, is that you can only change 2 liters of its 6 liter capasity (please correct me if I'm wrong) but when I went to change mine, thats all I could get out ( and back in) with out removign the gear box... the drian plug I found was on the side of the box (near side) not at the bottom.. I don't get it!

Gearbox capacity is only 2 litres for all the 5 speed 020 boxes.

Forgot to add to my comment,
I add an engine oil addative to the engine oil change (can't remeber name) VMX1 and it made a big difference to the gear change which is why I thought they must be the same!

I'm confused, did you fill your gearbox with engine oil then add the additive, or did you just add the engine oil additive to the original gear oil? Using engine oil in the box won't do any harm in the short term, however it doesn't have the additives that can allow the oil to cope with the extreme pressures that the gears put the oil though and keep the lubrication properties.

No I just changed my engine oil (emptied from the engine sump) I added the addative at the sametime as the engine oil and gave the storm a test drive and my first gear selection problem was much much better, so I assumed the engine oil and gearbox oil were the same

capasity only 2 liters?... B*ll*cks.
sorry, read your manual, it states 6 liters complete, 2 liters drain and refill in situ.
...I'm going home to check that now! sorry if I'm wrong again!
