My clutch cable snapped on the way home last week - fortunately it was late at night so managed to get it back home clutchlessly!
I've got the new cable ready to fit, but im missing the parts which secure the cable to the lever at the gearbox end. I assume they fell off when the cable broke. Does anyone know what it is i need/ where I can get them?
Im also thinking of renewing the clutch while i'm at it, as the pedal was very heavy and the cable at the limit of its adjustment. Seen these on ebay, anyone know if they're worth the extra money?
If it helps, my car is a 1989 GTII with a 1.8 standard ex engine

Re: Clutch Issues
There are two clips and a bit rubber which secures the clutch cable to the arm. You can get them from any VW parts department. Whole lot comes to less than a tenner as far as I recall.
