Clutch pedal

Evening all. I've put an ad in the wanted section for a clutch pedal. The one in my GTX has been butchered by a previous owner to accommodate those alloy pedal doofers from Sparco. I want rubber pads back on so need a pedal that the rubber will go on. I can't get a new one unless someone says the golf one will fit? Anyone know if a golf pedal would do the job?

The part number for the right hand drive clutch pedal is 172721315E, the same as fitted to the Mk1 Golf.
