Servo & Rear brake proportioning valves

Hi

Is there a way of checking the rear brake proportioning valves?
I am fitting a new master cylinder and the valves on the old cylinder have been sitting in a box for a long time.

Also is there any way of checking to see if the servo is still ok.
Access to this is easy while the engiem is out.
