256mm Brake Caliper Upgrade

Post by JHD »

Hello,

Got hold of some nice 256mm calipers off eBay for a steal freshly refurbed and painted. Now I’ve got the tricky part of sourcing the carriers for it.

I’m aware of the Vauxhall conversion but I’m not too interested in this. Does anyone have any of the carriers required for the VW conversion?

Cheers

They are as rare as hens teeth from what I understand.

You will find them on some old Audi estates, that's where I got my first set from. You can also get a very cheap set from the USA if you have any friends that travel over and back or if you want to pay the postage. www.cardone.com
Part number 14-1610 caliper brackets for the 16v Scirocco. Calipers are easy to find as they are fitted also to the MK3 Golf 2.0 L GTI, caliper carriers are another story.

So cheap! Postage isn't ideal however. I've been looking for a while now might just have to bite the bullet and get them sent from the US.

I may have to give it some more consideration in fairness. Bit of tunnel vision on my part after getting a nice set of Calipers! I’ll keep searching out a set in the UK. I’ll find some eventually (maybe).

Slightly more difficult when you’re in the UK!
