Bonnet flies open! Help with hinges please

Post by Oyo »

Hi all- well I've had a most exciting week.

I love my Rocco. And I was a bit overexcited to get back on the road after being away for thee months . She usually needs help with the battery .. so I did the usual and closed the bonnet-, flicked the bonnet latch under the car back to closed (or so I thought. )

Driving at 40 caught the wind on a curving uphill and bonnet flies open.

I've just had an encounter with the police which left me rather nervous so I forced the bonnet closed and naturally - regardless of the force I put into closing it (i am only little) the force of the opening of the bonnet was where the real damage lies

So- any advice on how to remove the hinges from the car body? I think they have been riveted on ..

Thanks! And if anyone is selling parts for this car 1984 gt

iola
