will a 16v engine go stright into a 1984 mk2 scirocco gti ?
will it devalue an all original car?
anyone no some who could rebuild my 8v gti engine? or have you got one ?

Yes.

Probably, but depends on other factors like number of owners, service history, mileage and overall condition.

Ant at Rust Republic can help with most things Scirocco related, he does complete restoration.

what exactly is wrong with the origenal engine?
they are normally quite strong engines.


I dont mind project cars but I HATE SANDING!!!

your car is a rarer model amongst the ranks

im putting a 16v in my gtx but that was far from std when i got it so no loss has been made

previous owner started to tinker with it took out injectors
and plugs ,got ill then locked it up for next 10 years,now has a
sezed engine,any ideas ?

Pour some oil into the cylinders via the spark plugs and leave it there for a couple of days, get a 19mm socket on the crank and try to turn the engine over a little each way to see if you can free it off.
My engine which I fitted last year had been taken out and stood out side in a garden under some tarp for 4 years without any injectors fitted and that was in good shape when I took the head off.

take it slow and easy, get the oil in amd let it work, no harm in putting it in the head too.

wd40 and bolts and nuts on the outside to soften the rust will help later down the line do it to threaded holes too
