!!! SOLD !!!

!!! SOLD !!!

Model: Mk 2 Scala Injection
Year: 1990
Mileage: 148,550ish (rising daily as is my daily drive !)
MOT: March 2017
Current owner: Yes
V5 present: Yes
Location: Tamworth, Staffs.
Price: £2000 (cash on collection, delivery an option see below)
Contact Details: PM me please ! Can also send photos via an email.

Alas it is with heavy angst that I have to put up for sale what was never meant to be my daily driver (but has been for the last few months) for the seeable but for only an interim moment for me whilst the new contract and an obligatory works vehicle :x  was sorted out.

When I was looking for an interim vehicle it was this or an 04 plate Corsa, obviously the Corsa was not even viewed, nor considered by me !

So the ‘rocco, a wonderfully original and standard (now thanks to the works carried out by me !) 1990 Scala 1800cc Injection in Silver-Grey LD7V bought off here originally a few months back with substantial service history. All original glass bar the driver’s side door quarter-light, fully operational sunroof. Currently sitting on standard steelies that will need tyres replacing soon but I guess you will be putting your own taste of wheels on anyway.

Filler neck generally all good as the arches appear to be under the body kit, however the top securing bracket has rotted from its mounting filler neck wise. Fuel pump is noisy and sometimes need a millisecond throttle tap to start in the morning – but is has been my daily and has had to be ‘on the button’ and being 'on call' for work, but car has been ! More of a niggle / curiosity than an issue, tickover is lovely at just over 1000 rpm.

A cracking little ‘rocco that has so much potential, either keep aiming for standard and original specification or yes an engine conversion is an option as I was hoping to do (16v KR) as being the injection model the basic bits are there, but I have no time for this now and the works vehicle is due beginning of December. However, it has been so good to me that it has made me think about getting my other Mk 2 projects on the road again ! So not all bad ! Mileage will rise as still in daily use ! Delivery possible as currently taxed until end of Decmeber, days insurance (for me) would be £50.

PM me for more details. Car is located near Tamworth Staffs. !!! Photographs up soon !!!

Works done (me) :

De-modded
Suspension replaced at all four corners by the book method (‘replace in pairs’)
Both track rod ends replaced
Red stripe grille
Uprated headlight bulbs
Lower and upper (Neuspeed spider-style) strutbraces fitted (upper freshly powder coated only last week !)
Rubber rocker cover gasket and stud kit fitted with freshly powder coated rocker cover and (red) plastic baffle installed
Rear light clusters replaced and converted to twin rear fog lights
Replacement Auxillary Air Valve (AAV)
Restored back to better than factory original drivers side bolster (‘tis now superb !)
Oil and oil filter change due approx. 155,000 (added a bottle of Slick50 and Wynns valve lifter oil too !)
Cam belt change required approx. 160,000
Slick50 Fuel System trteatment added too
Approx. 60/40 - water/antifreeze
New clutch fitted by previous owner approx. one month before selling to me (have receipt et al in substantial service history)
Sunroof greased and can confirm operates both backwards / forwards and tilts
SCIROCCOGTI badge on tailgate (try finding another of those!)
Immobilsier with two plastic fobs and two keys for ignition and all locks on car
Uprated front and rear speakers (6 x 9 parcel shelf speakers gone with parcel shelf !)
MFA appears to be in full working order
Heater ditto 'tis superb !

Works required :
Front brake discs and pads will need replacing sooner rather than later (I was going to get a 256mm setup with braided hoses fitted all round too but time and tide beat me)
Number plates want replacing (front different from what appears to be the original or only the second rear plate form new !)
Handbrake needs tweaking up a bit (may get time to do this)
Replace tired wing mirrors (ideally source a black pair and have refinished in original body colour LD7V)
Stick rear view mirror back on (has obviously tried to be repaired in the past and only happened this week !)
Exhaust centre rubber has come off, exhaust fine however (may get time to do this)
Needs a parcel shelf in black, straps and NOS rare as hens teeth black clips present but no shelf
I am pointing this next issue out as the previous owner did not do me the same courtesy 'Caveat emptor' and all that but come on (!), still, I am mentioning it - MoT wise may or may not be bothered about rusting through of rear inner arch rear of filler neck – appears not to have been bothered in the past - https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/
Needs a bonnet prop catch, the small little plastic beige coloured one
Nearside steering rack gaiter needs re-securing (may get time to do this one zip tie)

Service history :
Very good, not quite original ‘bill of sale’ but have paperwork relating to this as well in first purchasers name, as well as all of the original handbooks including the radio-cassettes even, five or six stamps in the service history handbook, photograph of this soon too !

Likely more to say, but am tired from work (aren’t we all ?!) so will add / edit / amend as necessary.
