does anyone no if the gear boxes are the same in carb and injection. cheers jon

Yes they are
But try and find out what the code is of the box your replacing as the ratio may well be different along with the driveshaft flange's if it's and early g/box. 90mm or 100mm
codes can be found at the top of page (sticky) and i think there is the flange sizes with the codes as well
