so the bodyshop are doing the outside and all the shuts etc.
i was pondering whether to spray the inside myself as i don't have enough cash to pay the bodyshop to do it. I have all the equipmet to do it and have resprayed a car before so have a reasonable clue. the quality wouldn't need to be as high either as it is mostly hidden. I have done a fair bit of rust repair and feel a good coat of paint may help, but then so does local sprays of high zinc stuff and its under seats or carpet anyway so no one will ever see it. would it be a waste of time and money? what are your thoughts?

If you're going to spray the inside it'd be wise to remove the factory bitumen - just to make sure you get all the rust.

That sounds like a pig of a job! What should I replace with? Sound deadening?

It's not that bad _ I used an Earlex heat gun. The worst part is getting rid of the residue afterwards with thinners/petrol or whatever your (literal) poison is.
I used 2mm Silentcoat but in hindsight should have used 4mm
