Fixed track rod and auto box?

Post by Chris M GT »

Just a couple of questions regarding my GT.

I went to change the track rod end on the n/s yesterday and found it to be fixed and part of the steering arm, just curious as I've never seen this before?

Presuming you just replace it like a normal steering arm?

When I come to adjust the toe can I just do them both from the o/s which is adjustable?

Also I changed both the lower arms and the n/s required to to take the auto box sump off and lift the engine from it's mounts. Can anyone recommend where to get a new sump gasket from and what oil to use?

Original near side track rods were fixed, but the only replacements are adjustable, which you have to set up as near to the original dimension as possible. You can then adjust both sides if you want to.

You can get the gaskets at GSF - http://www.gsfcarparts.com/313vg0010

I used D3 ATF

And that's why I love this forum!

Cheers I'll get one ordered and I'm glad the new arm will allow to me align both sides, got the joy of setting up the camber if my new coilovers while I'm at it too!
