What type of wheel is this?

Post by Jiffy »

Hi,

I was just wondering if the type of wheel in the attachment is the original type for a 1984 MK2 Scirocco GL? Does it have any particular name?

I know it's a 13 inch wheel, but did VW do the same wheel as a 14 inch?

Any help you could give would be appreciated.

Thanks :-D

Yes. No name that I can find. Listed on Dr.Dub's website as "8 spoke wheel" and "standard on 1984 GL". Pic from 1984 brochure.

And I'm sure I've never seen any similar VW wheel in 14.

Ok, thanks for the reply, I will look at that website now.

Ah, that's a shame, I was thinking of a 14 to fill the arch out a bit more, but I guess I'll stick to the 13 for originality and get them restored

@Jiffy - daveyg & unknownmale are referring to the wheels in connor's picture - Montreal aka bottle tops aka Storm aka Golf/Scirocco 16v wheels.
