mk2 16v handbrake cables?

Post by mattherat »

hi all i hope someone can help. i am currently in the middle of a mk1 golf project, which has a rear disc conversion. i have been told the best handbrake cables to use for fitting are mk2 16v 'rocco ones. but i am having a lot of trouble trying to find any. from what im told the 16v was not avaliable in this country (?) so does anyone have one or know where i could possibly source some from?

i will also want some 'rocco restrictors too, but the only ones i have found are german made ones and a bit on the pricy side, is there a suitable alternative at all?

many thanks for looking, i hope someone can help!

:-)

VW Classic Parts - via Heritage or you can now get quick replies from the team in Germany too. http://shop.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/vwcp/contact/

Alternative - later Mk3 Golf rear caliper/cable set up fits and is easier to maintain apptly. It's probably easier to track those parts down, Mk1 Golf owners club forum worth checking out incase it's been done over there too.
