Oil pressure gauge recommendation

Post by Macc »

Can anyone direct me to an oil pressure gauge that requires minimum effort to fit, has everything included I need and doesnt come on a slow boat from China? Theres so many on ebay and I dont want to order something else I cant use/dont need etc! Preferably not a digital one really too.

Cheers in advance!

Get one that uses a wired connection from a sender. Many use VAG sourced (used) guages with similar suitable two pressure sender.
Audi triple guage set up using GK 3 hole plate is quite popular.
This guide is an outline on the sort of thing you need to do even if you buy a new guage.

what about this one?

it was the one i was going to go for but never bothered in the end.
because its your high pressure sensor thats playing up you need to find out what pressure it goes up to and make your selction based upon that.

Thinking mainly of one that goes up to 20 bar (ish), the ones that go up to a 100 the needles hardly going to move!

A VDO 5 bar pressure gauge is adequate, but you can get a 10 bar one if you want. Your reference to "a 100" probably refers to the imperial equivalent PSI.
Whichever gauge you get, make sure you get the matching sender.

i might get one of these as it seems more handy to have actual pressure rather than a blinky light
