Mk 1 windscreen trim
Hi, the plastic trim fell to pieces when I took the screens out of my Mk1 and now and I need replacements to re-fit the screens. VW Heritage sell trim for Mk1 Golf and been told this should fit - anyone with experience of this ? Also think I could get s/h alloy trim but have heard this is difficult to fit (it's also a long journey to collect it!) . Any help/advice appreciated.

Yes the MK1 golf trim will fit. You do need a special tool to fit it though. I got one from Frost restoration parts
I bought some from ebay much cheaper. The plastic trim is not as wide as the original.

Hi all, don't bother with Golf 1 trim - it's not the same. Therefore I'm looking for a good set if anyone has some.

Where did you get the trim from and what is the problem with it?

Got the trim from VW Heritage. They initially said it would fit but then said it wouldn't - but by then it had been posted out. I was given a refund. It's narrower that the Scirocco's and does not fit well in the grove.
