fuel pump/in tank pump wiring

Post by Rusty dan »

morning all :chill:

I now have a spark but my fuel pumps are not coming on? :beg:

Wiring:

I have run a twin core cable from my fuel pump under the car and tested it on a battery fine. I then routed the cable to pin E14 in the rear loom block in the back of the fuse box and the other to the earth circles beside the fusebox.

For the lift pump I hve routed an extra power cable (as the carb engines only had two from the in tank pump). so connected there I have earth and fuel guage cable which is in the original loom and the extra power cable needed which i have run in to the same block as the external fuel pump pin E14.

Presuming this is coorect? :help: :help: :help:

Please let me know :D

In the pic you can see the earth on the left, the power in the middle and the fuel guage on the right

Cheers and hopefully by the end of today i will have a runner and can then rub back the scirocco for fresh paint! :mafia:

problem solved, Pin 'N' on the back of the fuse box needed a wire running from it to an ignition live point, there was no power on one of the tracks in the fuse box that runs the fuse (number 5).

All sorted now and hae fuel up to the metering head, today i will check my fuel unions as i have a leak from one! then we should have a running scirocco :D :yahoo:
