I'm wanting to strip the front suspension (wishbones/struts/ARB etc) off my mk1 for shot blasting and painting - it could drag on for a couple months.
Can anyone advise where is the best place to support with axle stands for a long period? just behind where the big bolt that secures the front of the wishbone to chassis perhaps?

Re: Front end support
Any main structure should be ok. Make sure it's on level ground and that the axle stands are both the same height. Might be an idea to use some blocks of wood or sheets of metal to spread the load under the axle stands, mine sunk slightly into my Tarmac drive a few years back.

I always go for the chassis just behind wishbone bolt. Toms right put a bit of wood down if on tarmac.

Re: Front end support
I would also put some wood between the axel stand and car to spread the load out on the car floor.

Thanks for the advice fellas.
The car is stood on a concrete floor, but as Mark says I will put some wood between axle stands and chassis.
