injectors for dx code engine..

Post by blackwedge »

Good evening all, I am about to order some new injectors for my 'rocco but want to make sure I get the right ones. The engine code is DX (17891cc). Does anyone know if there are replacements that would upgrade the performance of the O.E ones or should I stick to standard? (It's a long story but the other ones got lost)

Many thanks in advance.

Scott.

What year is your car and do you have an rubber hose at the back of the head between injectors 3 and 4?
I ask because there is 2 types of injectors.

Hi Mark,
thanks for your reply, My car is an 1988 GTX 8v with 1781cc DX code engine, Joost, posted a reply on another thread I quote : Depending on threadsize on the injectors you need :

026133551
injector valve / F 53-F-000 001>> 53-G-040 000* / F 53-F-000 001>> 53-G-060 000*
M12X1,5 / DX,KT JH

035133551F
injector valve / F 53-G-040 001>>* / F 53-H-000 001>>
M10X1 / DX,KT JH

Loads of numbers but not sure what refers to what, I currently, (as I write this mail) do not have access to the engine but am able to refer to a picture taken before the engine was removed, and ,if I am counting from left to right (alternator to my left) there appears to be a rubber hose disappearing from behind the rocker cover to between injectors 3 and 4. Between the throttle cable and the yellow flange of the vacuum hose.I tried uploading the photo but it says its too big. Hope this might help.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Mark,

First number is the partnumber
035133551F

Injector valve is the name :-D

Second number is de chassis or VIN number
F 53-G-040 001>>* / F 53-H-000 001>>

Third number is the thread size
M10X1

Fourth is the type of engine you have
DX,KT JH

But whatever this says it is always best to check on the car.
Because these cars were built over 20 years ago the book keeping is not as good as these days with al the computers and Barcodes.
I have had it severall times that the VIN number says this part but in real it was a part from the previous or next one.

So always CHECK on the car for partnumbers, even the injectors have numbers on them.

Joost

Undo an injector from its fuel line and check the thread size. That will tell you which one will fit.

Hi Guys,
just back from the garage where I have had the chance to check my engine, and yes there is a hose outlet between injectors 3 and 4.As I have no injectors currently in the engine(thus my current attempts to get info to buy some) I cannot measure the thread size as I have no injectors to measure. Does the air hose between the injectors mean they are of a certain type? if so which size are they? part :026133551 or part :035133551F ? Can't wait to get the old girl back on the road.

Have a great weekend all.

Check at your dealer with chassis number and/or registration number but i'm pretty sure that these are the items that you need -035133551F. Available to order from the VW dealer at £66.02 each + VAT. Injectors are supplied with both seals already fitted.
