Brake discs

Post by monzajake »

Ok so its time now to fit up the 280mm brakes on the mk1 as a trial fit (hoses lines etc) its all changed.
All looking great. But. Can anyone really confirm that drilled and grooved discs really make that much of a difference.
Also been looking at prices and there's a big difference between standard and all singing & dancing.

Is it more of "wow looked aftermarket discs up front!" Personal preferences ?
oh not forgeting thats is all either new or refurbished parts ie servo, lines, hoses etc..... :-)

Drilled discs suffer much worse from heat cracks than "normal" discs. Personally I wouldn't bother again. Last set I fitted were knackered a long time before the pads
