Hi
I'm having difficulties with the sunroof on my Mk2 GTI so I'm thinking of replacing it. I've seen a GL near by being broken for spares.
Does anyone know if the GL sunroof would fit the GTI? They're are wanting £70 for the sunroof and mechanism though which seems a bit daft...
Also the dashboard has cracked, anyone know of a good way of filling the cracks as it'll be another £70 for a new dash, again from the GL
Cheers! :)

Re: MK2 GTI Sunroof
If it is a factory fitted sunroof and yours is it will be case of swapping over, but what is wrong with your sunroof?
The dash will be the same but alot of the GL's (and GTi's) came with a coloured dash!
Where are you based mate, there are a few members in the north east that may be able to help you?

Re: MK2 GTI Sunroof
Well my sunroof doesn't sit flush causing too much water to get past the seal and overwhelm the drainage pipes.
It may just need a good service rather than replacing the sunroof.
Yeah the GL dashboard is blue which isn't ideal!

Thanks for the help!

Re: MK2 GTI Sunroof
Sounds like your sunroof needs adjusting, there is a section in the Haynes on how to do it.
With regards your dash you could put a wanted ad in the appropriate section on this site.

I'd start with cleaning the drainage pipes. 9 times out of 10 that is the cause of sunroof leaks
