2L 16V ABF 4 BRANCH IN GT2

Post by DAM1T »

Question for all you conversion experts out there.
Just bought a 2 litre 16v ABF and box from a MK3 Golf GTi to drop into my 89 GT2 track toy over the winter; questions are:-
a) Is there an off the shelf 4 branch manifold I can buy that will fit this engine in my Rocco, or will I have to have one custom made?
b) Do I need to fit a" in tank pump" when using injection system, and if so which pump will fit my rocco tank or can I get away with an external facet pump mounted in the engine bay?
c) Should I stick with the injection system or convert to twin weber's (40's/45's) bearing in mind this is exclusively for track use so I'm not worried about fuel consumption.
All advice welcome

So long as the pump you fit isn't designed to have a scavenge pump in the tank (i rob them from larger engined beamers) then you don't need a pump in the tank

if you get the lift pump from a polo they fit perfect in the top of the tank hole and replace the cover, and then feed that to a inline pump old mercs/vw kjet will do you no probs...
