Carb flange torque setting

I'm replacing the carb flang on an 18oo vw running a pierburg 2e2 card but the haynes manual does not specify a torque setting for the flange. For smaller vw this is the same as the carburettor.

Does anybody know how tight these bolt need to go?

Tight but not stupid tight. A bit more than "nipped up"

That sounds very precise. Would that be comparable tightness to the carb bolts?

I see you are on the MK1 golf forum as well...
Same question on there... :yup:

Tight enough so they don't rattle lose.

Yep, the mk1 golf is in pieces. The scirocco is the daily driver...except this weekend. I'm replacing the exhaust manifold gascket and thought I would chuck a new carb flange while I'm at it.
