Ball joint.

Had my scirocco on the lift in my friends garage today, and discovered that the ball joint had gone on the passenger side. Which explains the knocking noise i've been hearing for the last few months. So obviously i'm going to need a new ball joint and as the wishbone is not in the best of nick plus i don't want to be grinding off rivets and trying to attach a new ball joint to the old wishbone, i've decided to buy the wishbone and ball joint as one complete unit. Couldn't get the parts locally so had to resort to ebay. Found this one . What do you guys think. Would you recommended it. Thanks in advance , john.

You drill out the rivets, not bring them off. The balljoint then slides out of the arm and the new one slides back in, then attach with the bolts and lock nuts that come with it

VWS do Febi wishbones bushes and ball joints. All good stuff. Later Mk 2's have the 17mm ball joint by the way.
