Rear Brake Proportioning Valve

I was hoping someone could advise me on the fitting of a proportioning valve from a mk2 Golf GTI 16v, to the rear beam on my GTX.

The rear disks I have don't really kick in enough currently, and I'm hesitant to remove the inline proportioning valves in case it causes some nerve-wracking rear wheel lock ups! :shock:

The MK2 Golf GTI had a self-adjusting proportioning valve which attached to the rear axle beam. The proportioning was dependent on the rotation of the rear beam/depression of suspension. Thus the heavier the load on the rear axle, the more pressure is applied to the rear brakes. Also upon heavy braking, the valve will decrease pressure as the rear end lifts up reducing the risk of premature rear wheel lock ups.

Basically, I have one I took off an old golf, and would like to fit it to my GTX. The concept is simple enough, but it is the fitting which I am unsure of. Also it seems hard to find photos or diagrams of the unit fitted in place.

Has anyone tried this? If so, can you tell me how you fitted it to the body/beam?
