Hi All, I now have my KR engine ready to build & fit to the car, I have everything I need for the mod, but just wondered if anyone knew of or had a straight forward wiring diagram that would assist in the conversion. Just so you know, it's replacing an 8V carb, I will have the fuel pump on a seperate circuit so I can manually control it, but other than that the wiring will not be modified. I have the complete KR engine loom and ECU, last thing I need is the ignition amplifier, but they are easy to get as I believe that the one for the KR engine is different from the Sciroco, even if they look the same.
Thanks in advance.

Re: KR Engine Wiring
best place to look buddy is on CGTI - they have a load of really good info on there under the 16v section.

Re: KR Engine Wiring
I found this pic very helpful when I originally did my conversion

This is what each wire does
A - ECU vacuum feed, mine is fed off a 'T' piece from the brake servo hose
B - Not used for the conversion (fuel pump wiring on the golf's)
C - Earth, stick it straight on the battery (-)
D & E - These plug into the coil, same colours as the standard Scirocco wiring
F - Earth. Mine is attached to the head under one of the distributer clamp nuts
G - This plugs into the distributor
H - ECU water temp sensor - there are 3 sensors on the block under the distributer, all are for water
Also with the ignition amp, I've used a standard Scirocco one for years with no problems
