1988 gt clocks

Post by jond »

hi I need to replace my 1988 gt clocks I managed to destroy the ribbon connector when attempting to refit my original clocks after sorting out a non working fuel gauge so now need a new set  I am tracking a set on fleabay but notice that some have a maf (think this is some sort of computer ) my original set don't have this if I bought the computer set will it work in my car or do stick with an original set

also ive been describing my car as a gt2 it was only when I looked on the tailgate and it said GT that the penny dropped :chortle: whats the difference between these models

The GT started out as a 1.6, then got the 1.8 in about 1988. The GT11 was introduced for 1990, it came with sports seats in the corporate tartan and fully colour coded bodykit, yours will be black. The GT11 was in production until the end, even after VW dropped the Scala injection, and the run out models came with central locking and electric windows. :geek:

Reference the clocks, the MFA (multi function analyser) were fitted to injection models, so that function wuldn't work on yours but not sure if the speedo and rev counter would? You would be better off putting a wanted ad on here, most of us tend to us bits and bobs kicking around.

You should be able to get 30+ around town and up to 40+ on a long run if you are not thrashing it.

There are some very expensive clocks on Ebay, you should be able to pick up a set much cheaper here and it will be for a Scirocco!

The is another seller with a job lot of clocks, sure it is MarkH off here, much better deal!
