Looks like a cloth sunroof, pretty tired looking.

If it sounds like it's naughty, it probably is.

yes very very very tired. went to look at this about four weeks ago. Its stood for 10 years, engine not run for at least 3 years (he said) in my opinion longer.
Been left for the 10 years uncovered with the roof not properly fitted. the owner did the conversion himself, he has photos of the build. Shell was rotten before he started according to the photos. Lots of fibreglass, with many cracks. In some areas no metal underneath the fibreglass e.g. the bonnet hinge not attached to the body - rotted away.
I made him an offer of £200 as the dash is not bad and 2 doors are saveable.
I'm not one to shy away from basket case prjects, especially when it means saving a mk 1 - but this will take a braver man than me!!
The car was in a very tight space, difficult to see properly, couldnt open the doors, car full of rubble and water. So could easily be worse than at first inspection.
Good luck to anyone who takes this on.

Re: Anyone seen this?
i hope someone manages to salvage the good bits but scraps the majority of the shell.
its like a caddy mated with a cabriolet then its offspring raped a scirocco
fair play to whoever built it for trying something different but its god awful
keep it coupe, people.
as said above. i cant imagine that its doing very well on the rust and rot front having been stood there for so long, open to the elements.

If it's got tits or tyres it's trouble but I always go back for more.
