Dealers still sell the OEM sunroof seal, about £45 or so!

i believe it was on the car when it was bought new :s but doubt when it left the factory

hmmmm bonding a sheet of carbon fibre on maybe the way forwards :s

Had a thought. I remember that VW made the Polo 'open air' , which has a full length fabric sunroof. It might be worthwhile going down you local dealer and taking a look on ETKA. I am not sure but maybe it has a similar type of seal or something that can re-engineered to solve your issue.

errr not sure they are interested in one person lol

also i don't have any idea what type sunroof it is, no markings and no paperwork for it :s
