Mk1 GLS expansion tank??

Post by Potter »

Been quite a while since i was last on here, got rid of my old mk2 4 years ago :(.
I am going to look at a mk1 scirocco next weekend was wondering if its should have a expansion tank? looking at the pictures it has a filler cap on the radiator but no expansion tank.
The car in questino is a 1978 mk1 1.6 GLS.
Any advice/help would be much appreciated

Thank Phil

No it doesn't have one,As you say there is just a cap on the the side of the radiator for the coolant.

If you haven't looked already the guide here on the register will give you plenty of pointers on what to look for:

But feel free to ask any questions
