mk1 bmw e30 headlights

Post by vr_powered »

I have a set of bwm e30 projector headlights i want to fit to the mk1, i have seen the technote on vintage watercooleds site which involves cutting the headlights, bowls and frames but having stared at the lights and frames and done some measurements it looks as though i should be able to ditch the mk1 headlamp bowls and mount the e30 lights direct to the mk1 frames with only a small amount of modification to the frames, has anyone on here gone that route and did it work and more importantly did you have any issues getting them setup and through the mot

not done this yet, but i've got the light units ready. all i was going to do was wedge the lights pointing roughly in the right place, making sure all of the adjusters have plenty of travel in all directions, so it can be tweeked as needed, then make up some custom mounting frames from steel stock. this will leave me with my standard ones un-butchered should i ever need them
