Scarlet in Accident on the 25/7/12.

Post by G Beats »

Very unfortunately our car and us was in a smash we are are ok and the other driver which is the main thing but I had to get a ambulance for my wife as she had chess pains but she was just winded through the seat belt as it was a bit tight it is still hurting now a bit now if it is not gone by the Wednesday coming she is going to see ta nurse .At 8.30pm on 25/7/12 in Portishead she was hit on the front right which is the near side more the passenger side.We were turning right from a main road into a side road the sun blinded me and we hit a ford ka that pushed to bumper in the bonnet up smashed the front head lights and fog light, the drivers door will not open. The car is still as it can not be recovered until a week Monday when our mechanic will be back off holiday when he will be able a to do the insurance estimate report of the damage to our insurance company. But he thinks the car has a twisted chassis because the drivers door will not open what is every body's views on this on here please. All so there was linking oil I do not know if this is from the engine or the gear box or if the engine has pushed up.I know there is lots of room in the front of these cars to put a bigger engine as she has the original one so there for there is room for impact on front end accidents. We hit the front corner drivers side of the Ford KA. Many thanks help would be more then appreciated.

Sorry to hear about your accident. Very common for doors not to open in very minor bumps on a Scirocco. The front wings go back and tuck themselves in behind the front edge of the door. Happened to me twice over the years and on both occasions, there was no structural damage to the car re front panel, inner wings and front chassis legs! Quite bizarre!

Post a photo up and it may be more apparent where you should be looking for potential problems.

be warned, if you leave a badly damaged car parked on the street, the police are likely to tow it away, and you'll get charged £150 for the privilege ;)

I'd put good money on it being written off.

Wish you good health and with getting another Scirocco on the road :good:

I decided to cut my losses and scrap my 1st Rocco because of rust but made the most of it for spare parts/ weighed in the shell for £100 with other scrap, but I'm sure no where near as bad an experience as being in an accident.
