Can anybody help please, I did see a very old post regarding original aerials but thought it better start afresh. If I've done wrong then I appologise!!
Anyway, I'm after an aerial to fit my MK2 on the top of the NS wing, not the side of the wing, but the very top flat bit. I've hunted high & low for an after market one, but they just won't fit & I don't really want to increase the size of the mounting hole as there isn't much room from the edges as it stands & all the aerials I've seen have rubber mounts at the base that are too big a diameter & end up sitting on the edge of the bonnet.
If anybody has one or can point me in the right direction I would be very happy.

RoccoGT11 (Matt) bought a job lot of the correct aerials for a MK2, you could pm him a message and see if he has any left.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread...Does the PC2-18-4 harness lead create a switched live to a modern stereo? Just bought a new head unit and harness, wondered if the ignition will cut the radio off once it's all wired in?

I'm not sure what the original thread has to do with your problem, but anyway:
The Scirocco radio wiring doesn't have a switched live; original radios have to be turned on and off, and can be used without the ignition switched on. You can either plug the switched live on your modern loom into its own permanent feed (most harness looms have plugs on the red and yellow wires to let you do this), or you can find a switched live at the fusebox and tap in a wire from there to your radio's wiring.

Re: MK2 Wing Aerial
Do you still have the bottom half of the aerial? If you do then use the black rubber/plastic part that sits on the wing, and swap if for the base on an "oversized" aerial.chrisme85 wrote:i need a new aerial also... surely there must be another car that has the same mounting or somet similar...? think a walk around the scrappy is in order..
