Wishbone Poly Bushes

Hi all, just after any experience you guys have of doing the above? Car in question won't be going near a track any time soon, just daily duties, depending on MPG of twin40s

Chassis already has Coilovers, Poly Bushed OEM Anti Roll Bars and 3 Strut Braces. Would guess its lowered around the 60mm mark? Wishbones are certainly inverted anyway. In the future, looking to go a touch lower too.

Also run 15" 7j wheels on Toyo Proxies.

So, is it overkill to poly them? Would the ride become more crashy? Worth it for increased cornering grip?

Cheers for any input :beers:

I've done it, with a drop of around 100mm.. the rides fine!

..i drove a mates astra the other day, i was so happy to be back in my rocco, where i could feel the road and what was going on with the car-road interface!!!

;-)

..infact, I'm on similar wheels, only the two struts though, polyied EVERYTHING bar the engine mounts atm, this summer, unless some one buys it first, the roll cage will be going in :-)

I have a set on mine, they are pretty easy to do with a vice. Ive not driven on them so cant say what they are like.
If you decide not to ge them and just replace with standard ones, i have a new set of wishbone bushes you can have for £10. Bought them before I decided to get poly ones.

Ta for the offer mate, but if I do go down that route I'll get some wishbones with bushes in place so I can get them powder coated. Was thinking about seam welding them too but read far too many horror stories.

You will melt the bushes if they are in when you powder coat the wishbones. I found that when I powder coatedy engine mounts. All the rubber perished.

I've done it. Stripped the wishbone and had it powdered.
Cracking ride

From what I've read, the reason they are spot welded from the factory is upon impact they will break/twist rather than twisting the chassis. Granted its not really an issue on a track car but on a daily that would suck.

yeah, sorry, basically they are designed to break before the chassis does.
