Newbie
Hi all, I have recently bought a MK2 rocco GTX in mars red, It was actually listed on here a couple of years ago by 'smithgtx'.
I live in warwickshire and hope to restore the car to former glories. I bought without viewing from ebay but seem to have got quite a solid vehicle with a fair bit of history but in need of some tlc. Missing lots of small bits and bobs (mainly all there) but hopefully fellow enthusiasts will help signpost where bits are available.

Welcome
Looking forward to see pics. Spend some time searching on the forum and you'll start to get an idea of where we tend to resource parts from and general Scirocco knowledge. The parts for sale section on here is your first port of call

Mars Red Rocco
Hi guys, well had a good chance over the last few days to checkover and a couple of things have cropped up. Dropped the oil out of the car and it was full of petrol, used Mann filter with a valve in as a replacement and good quality oil before i tried to start her up (non runner for 12mths) Fresh fuel in the tank and new sparkplugs, dizzy cap, rotor arm and ignition amp. Battery is good, tried to start and well.....nothing, sparks every now and again but not a consistent strong spark, but then the motor turns over slowly. Battery discharged so will re charge and check earth strap from battery to engine. Anything else anyone can think of?
Had a rummage around underneath and the front end is in great shape, the doors are both holed but will look at sympathetic repairs rather than replace (door shut lines are very good) rear end though appears to be a different story.
Corrosion on o/s rear sill to floor not to bad though, both rear arches shot and the n/s inner wheel arch in the corner where it meets the sill....other than that it seems ok.
Are replacement panels available or has someone made pattern parts?
Cheers guys and looking forward to replies

Re: Newbie
hi, good luck with the project, most of what you're asking about can be found in the various tech sections and in the faq site - see the links of main site or in the tech area of forum.
