£42 isn't a bad price delivered....i'd be tempted to get some cheapys of the bay, get em blasted, welded, plastic coated and fitted with poly bushes. May cost a bit more but, the handling will be better, they'll last longer if coated properly and, you'll have made em yourself so kudos points as well.

Who do you drive trains for?? I drive for Freightliner. Just off ter kip, up at 01:45. :crying:

Hi traindriver,
Use this link: http://www.vwspares.co.uk/scirocco_suspension.php. They do the Febi wishbones Part No 08397 complete with bushes at £18.90 each including Vat. I fitted 2 of these wishbones and 2 ball joints and they are good quality and fit, in fact all the stuff I have bought from them have been good quality. Febi is OEM standard kit on most VW's. Left and right hand side wishbones are the same. Would recommend giving them a couple of coats of smooth black hammerite on top of the supplied coating before fitting to give extra rust protection. I have used VWS a few times and they are good with emails to let you know the order status but I normally wait till I need a few things so one delivery charge can cover everything.

I bought these wishbones think I got them cheaper than they are quoted on the website now. For 29.74 plus postage you are getting them with the bushes fitted which I still think is pretty good for the price. They are made by the JP Group Germany and seem to be good enough quality. The bushes seemed fine. I bought them for the convenience of being able to just bolt them in. I bought a bunch of stuff from them which lowered the overall postage.

I bought the rest of the bushes febi ones for the front end from the place mentioned above. I couldn't fault them, just did everything online because you can get the exact price as you prep an order.

The only Poly bushes I will be fitting are on the main rear axle Rally design ones and rubber VW heritage ones for the arbs. For daily use after all.

The guy is very friendly and helpful at Veedubmachine, just make sure he has stuff in stock as he had made an honest error with one of my orders when he thought he had something in stock but immediately reimbursed me.

I bought some door locks and flag type wing mirrors from veedubmachine - very poor quality i'm afraid. :( Door locks didnt fit or work, and the wing mirrors drooped as the ball joint was not designed well. Thats just my experience, I too go to AVS now.

So many plans, so little time

I have brought the ball joints already but the old ones are riveted in so thought just to buy new wishbones to save time trying to drill them out.

I wouldn't expect them to be rusty when you buy them but they will rust pretty much straight away on the car anyway. Best to give them a coat of hammerite or something.
